Full Trakt integration with watched/unwatched/playback status sync would be amazing. Imagine being able to start a movie or show on your server and being able to switch to a friends server to finish where you left off…
Yeah this would be cool, the tracking of your watched content should lie within the account and not within the server (Plex Home).
I think one should be able to create different user profiles within the account itself and let those profiles’ watch history be server wide, aka if I watch Empire s01e01 on server A it should be marked as watched on both server A and server B, not only server A
Thing is that people in Plex home do not get access to servers that are shared with the Plex home admin, I think this is very bad
So I recently have switched over to Brave (dev) browser from Firefox (nightly). After logging in with Brave (I also tested the latest Chrome and found it functions the same), it has two big changes:
-
Plugins is missing under Online Content
-
Shows and Movies I have watched are not marked as played anymore.
When I login with Firefox, Plugins shows and videos I have watched are marked as played. Now I know that Plex has announced they are stopping support of plugins. I do currently use the Trakt plugin.
Maybe I do not understand fully how the Trakt plugin works, but I find it odd that Plex server isn’t marking shows/movies as played from the Trakt plugin. Let alone, that it shows two completely different things between the two browsers.
Just to note:
I watch most things from the Infuse player using Plex integration on an Apple TV.
Yeah +1 for full trakt support. I rather have a native trakt support then that broken useless subtitle feature.
Don’t you achieve this by installing the Trakt plugin on both servers?
I don’t think trakt should be needed for this at all, Plex should do it like Netflix and let you choose profile as soon as you log into your account.
Managed users are the exakt same thing as Netflix profiles
But those managed users do not get access to servers that are shared with the Plex Home admin
Well if I’m understanding you the Plex admin shares his servers with his home users.
Meanwhile that Plex admin has a friend who shares his server with him?
And you feel that those home users have a right to access another person’s server?
If the admins friend wanted to share his server with friends of a friend he could simply share it with them.
I know I am obviously misunderstanding what you’re saying. At least I hope so or that’s just too stupid for words.
You understood me right. I think server admin should have an option to let the home users also get access to the server, like one in my picture. But I then think it is important that UserA and his whole home group is counted as one user regarding the settings Remote streams allowed per user so that UserA does not abuse my server.
Yes the admin could share his server with the plex home users directly, but if I do that for every family member of my close relatives and friends, I would hit the 15 user limit very quick.
Than your 15+ people household should start to get individual accounts instead of “misusing” the home user feature.
Resharing shared servers takes away control as to how many people access the shared server and is not allowed for a reason.
please stop hijacking this thread for complete nonsense
I really would love to see Trakt integrated directly into Plex, The plugin works for the most part (until they completely pull out plugin support) but native integration configured through settings would be wonderful and future proof this.
Trakt is the one plugin I would say I actually depend on.
i agree formal trakt integration would be huge. Currently my newly collected tvshows are not updating in trakt when collected but scobble is working and movies are working for collected status. I’ve got the latest version of the plugin and clean sync selected
Plex and Trakt are a match made in heaven.
Yeah, Plex needs to sort this before closing the plugins.
Yes please!! trakt.tv native integration, actually it’s the only plugin that I use it.
After Plex anuncies close Plug-in support, trakt.tv should be integrated
Add me to the list. Since Plugins were deleted, Trakt integration would be an actual feature I would use.
Trakt intergration is a MUST now that Plugins are being phased out.
The existing plugin has been abandoned anyway. Hasn’t had any development since early 2018 and the list of issues is immense.
This is an extremely important feature, bump
