For TV shows, can PLEX have functionality to indicate that there are newer episodes released, but not downloaded yet? And/or, an indicator that the latest episode is downloaded. Maybe there is an addon that would do this? It would need a data source that shows the last released episode date which I think is available on many sites.
I don’t think you will see anything like this come to Plex built in.

I use Sonarr. It monitors my library and let’s me know what’s missing.
It has a calendar function that tells me when things are being aired that I don’t have in my library. It’s a little limited though in that it only knows what’s being aired on the original channel for that Series.
