Would it possible to please add the option of sorting by content rating? I think this would be a great option to what is already (IMHO) the best media collection server out there! I do utilize the option for showing by Genre, only by sorting by content ratings there will be media my family and I won’t skip.
Thank you for making Plex what is and continuing to innovate the product!
it appears this is available but broken in the latest beta if you’re using the local version of Plex Web (https://your-pms-IP-address:32400/web) where you can sort by rating to no effect. If you use the hosted version of Plex Web (https://app.plex.tv/desktop – v 3.47.1), you can sort by rating.
That being said… it looks like this version is broken as well.
In my movies library, it’ll order like this:
-
15(gb/15) -
12(gb/12) -
6(de/6) -
18(de/18) -
16(de/16) -
12(de/12) -
0(de/0)
my first thought was this might be due to the mix of British and German ratings… on second thought, not so sure.
Thank you @tom80H for replying!
I’m using my Shield as my PMS and client and do not see that option in my app, I’m signed up for beta and have never seen that option on my Shield.
Just checking this on my Android TV… I can filter by rating but there’s no option to sort by it.
UPDATE: We now have this option in the latest update (for Android TV)!
Thank you to whomever saw this and made this possible, my family and I thank you!
sorting by content rating is still broken, it looks like it sorts the ratings alphabetically G, M, MA, Not Rated, PG, R rather than in increasing/decreasing level of rating Not Rated G, PG, M, MA, R
another example of alphabetical ordering of ratings is shown above
15 (gb/15), 12 (gb/12), 6 (de/6), 18 (de/18), 16 (de/16), 12 (de/12), 0 (de/0)
rather than in increasing/decreasing order of restriction
18 (de/18), 16 (de/16), 15 (gb/15), 12 (gb/12), 12 (de/12), 6 (de/6), 0 (de/0)
this will probably need a custom table to store all ratings in their order (some will overlap)
this is on the web client with the server and web client running on OSX
the sort order is still alphabetic not in order of the content rating G -> M -> MA -> Not Rated -> PG -> R rather than in increasing/decreasing level of rating Not Rated -> G -> PG -> M -> MA -> R
