Galaxy Tab S7+ No TrueHD support?

Server Version#:4.54.5
Player Version#:8.16.0.24021
Hey everyone, so I recently purchased the Galaxy Tab S7+ for many reason, some being that it offers HDR 10+ support as well as Dolby Atmos support. I was trying to watch a movie today and noticed that the plex app shows TrueHD greyed out and says unsupported. Is there any way to force this to be enabled as the device does support it, however, the app doesn’t seem to recognize that? Thanks for any answers!

The shield is the only mainstream device which supports truehd on plex.

Also, there are 2 kinds of atmos, truehd + atmos from Blu-ray, and streaming (dd+) atmos from streaming providers (ie Netflix etc).

There are no known sources of dd+ atmos other than rips from streaming.

There is no consumer available method to convert truehd atmos to dd atmos.

Makes sense, I appreciate your response.
I’ve noticed that if I enable plex to open movies in 3rd party apps like VLC for example, that they direct play the movies with TrueHD audio just fine. Maybe one day the Plex app will allow us to force enable the codec support since it appears the devices does support it.

players like vlc are stand alone players (not client/server) built with much more codec decoding support and can internally decode more formats than other players, including plex.

plex relies on the server to do the heavy lifting of transcoding on the server content that is not supported on the client, so the client has less work to do locally.

there could also be licensing involved, that either plex does not or cannot support some codecs on the client.
