'Gallery' extras type

I have a number of movies where there are extras which are a photo gallery of still images (eg. The Wizard of Oz 75th anniversary BluRay contains 18 of these types of extras)

These do not really fit into a ‘Behind The Scenes’ or ‘Featurettes’ or ‘Scenes’ type of extra.

I would like to see a new reserved named folder of ‘Gallery’ or ‘Photo Gallery’ which these types of extras can be grouped in, and treated in the same way as other extras types.

They are a unique type in the sense that most do not have an Audio Track, Contain a video of the still images, and a chapter marker for each still image in the file.

I’d like to see this too. For now, I’ve just stuck the ones that are video into the scenes category even though technically don’t fit.

But I’ve got quite a few that were apart of the DVD Menu that couldn’t be ripped as video, so I Just took screenshots of them and bundled them into a zip as a .cbz (Comic book zip) file that I’d also like to be able to access in plex.

I would also like this “Photo Sets” feature as well. In my “Travel Videos” Library, I would like to be able to select, say, a video “New York Vacation”, and below the “Summary” text would be a scrollable “Photo Sets” section where still-frame shots from the video at regular intervals are displayed.

This way, I can quickly identify if this video has the “Statue of Liberty” in it just by looking at the frame-shots, without scanning through the entire video. It would be extra nice if the “Photo Set” gets automatically generated for “Other Videos” type of Library. And maybe an “Enable Photo Sets” toggle option in the Library’s Advanced settings.

Thanks for all the hard work! I can’t wait to try my new Occulus Go with Plex! Arriving tomorrow! :stuck_out_tongue:

Me too. Really nice to have such a feature.

There are quite a few movie extras categories that can be filled with video files, like: Behind The Scenes, Deleted Scenes, Featurettes, Interviews, Scenes, Shorts, Trailers. There are no extras categories for photos. I want to be able to add extra promotional photo content to a movie, as a local media asset. This could be photos from the set, cast & crew, etc. They’re found everywhere these days: Twitter, Instagram, PR releases.

Yes, I can make a slideshow out of them, or put them in a photos library, but there is no way (afaik) to associate them with a movie and have them displayed as an extra on that movie’s page. My audience will likely never go to a separate photo library just to see cool Deadpool promo photos, but they absolutely would click on them after watching the movie and being all hyped up and interested in extras. I think other people would too.

I second this request, extremely valuable feature! I have a lot of videos of amateur theatre performances, would be fantastic to put a gallery of photos in the extras. Thanks!

That would make a neat post-play suggestion, too - start a slideshow of photos related to the movie.
