Gapless playback on a Mac plugged into USB DAC - Is this not a Plex Pass feature anymore?

Player Version#: 1.24.0.1483-714cba36

I have a Mac Mini running HighSierra 10.13.6, with a Nuforce 192k USB to SPDIF output. Coax SPDIF is then connected to a Primare SP31.7 Processor.

In the Plex player prefs I have selected:
Exclusive mode = tick
Audio Device = Nuforce 192k DAC - HS
Audio device kind = basic
Channels = 2

So, I was under the impression gapless playback was key feature that Plex Pass buyers could take advantage of. Have I got the wrong end of the stick somewhere? I can’t see it mentioned anymore in the Plex Pass marketing blurb: https://www.plex.tv/en-gb/plex-pass/

I’ve tried Plex in exclusive and non-exclusive mode. I’ve tried the PlexMediaPlayer, but neither give me gapless playback when playing a simple album of tracks all identically encoded and located in the same folder. I’m not streaming to Chromecast or anything like this. I have a simple Mac plugged into a USB DAC and Amp.
If anything exclusive mode is worse, as I get an even longer gap and loud blips at sample/bit depth are changed needlessly.

You will get gapless with the iOS Plex app and Plexamp (both on iOS and Mac).

Ah, unfortunately, that’s no use to me. :frowning:

I can’t use the iOS app on my Mac Mini. And I can’t remotely control Plexamp - my Mac Mini is plugged into hi-fi and TV and I sit several metres away on the sofa.

Plus the Plexamp interface looks a bit naff on a 55" widescreen TV when sat several metres away.

Controllability will eventually be coming to Plexamp.
