I am not always able to get remote access to my Plex server and sometimes when an issue occurs it would be really helpful to have a function in the web interface to capture and save (possibly even zip up and store) all of the Plex Server log files for download to submit to the forums. This would ensure that a) the logs are not overwritten by the time I get a chance to remote on to the server and b) they will consitently contain all of the required logs for Plex Dev/Ninjas to see what went on.
To detail what I am suggesting:
A new button somewhere in the Plex Web -> Server Configuration screens which will:
- Gather all Plex Server logs (could also include some configuration details, version/manifest file?)
- Zip (or any other compression really ;)) them into a single package
- Store them somewhere on the server
A new view somewhere in the Plex Web -> Server Configuration screens which lists all the gathered log packages and provides access to download them.
I believe this will greatly assist us users in gathering the information needed when something goes wrong.
