I Finally managed to get my big itunes smart playlist into plex (4 days of music).
If you edit the itunes xml file and take out the two sections for that playlist that make it a smart playlist then plex recognizes it and loads successfully.( Obviously don’t do this with a live itunes file).
- Search the file for the playlist name that you want
- Remove everything from Smart Info and the chunk as well as Smart Criteria and its chunk
- Import the library file
Thank you! This was extremely helpful!
This just isn’t working for me. Plex is still rejecting the playlists - it knows they are smart playlists and when it can’t replicate the criteria, it just deletes them.
This has maddened me for a couple of years now.

Hey Plex Devs, why not just accept the iTunes playlist as a STATIC playlist if the code can successfully find the items??? Then at least I would have SOMETHING. I could update the Smart playlists in iTunes and re-import them when needed.
Please???
