Currently when Plexamp is set to TIDAL as source there are suggested content snippets at the home screen:
- NEW ALBUMS
- NEW TRACKS
- TOP ALBUMS
These are usually top charts / new releases for given country which I usually don’t care about (simply because it’s mainstream stuff which I never listen to).
In native TIDAL app my home screen has things like:
- For You (mix of playlists / new releases)
- Radio stations for you
- Suggested new tracks
- Suggested new albums
- New releases for you
All above are based on my content / listening history and are far more useful than random mainstream releases.
Probably most important for me is ‘For you’ section because it includes ‘My Daily Discovery’ playlist, my daily go to and probably most important place in TIDAL to discover new music (related to my taste). If I want to check daily new suggestions from TIDAL using Plexamp I currently have rather painful workaround of going to TIDAL > My Daily Discovery > add all tracks to some playlist > go to Plexamp > play from this playlist > add tracks from this playlist to where they belong (other playlists like fav jazz, fav rap, fav indie, fav whatever) > delete the playlist > repeat next day.
How difficult would it be to pull the above content from TIDAL into Plexamp’s homepage? I’m working as backend enginer so I know technicaly it’s probably half a day of work. Question is if TIDAL exposes this content.
