I’m making a real effort to move to Plex+Tidal for my primary music source, and generally using Plexamp as a client with occasional use of the regular Plex app. One thing that I haven’t found a good answer for is discovering new music when it’s released for artists already in my library.
Spotify has a customized “Release Radar” playlist. Deezer has a similar custom “Friday releases” playlist. GPM had a whole “recommended releases” section that highlighted new music from liked artists, as well as a station that was basically this section shuffled together.
The closest I’ve been able to find so far is just in Tidal, where there’s sections for new tracks and albums, but they don’t seem to take my taste/history into account at all. I mostly listen to metal, and the top of the new tracks section is Taylor Swift.
Discovery Radio is good for finding new artists I might like, but is there a way to keep on top of new releases for artists I’ve already established as liking?
Good to know. Any idea what triggers this to start happening? (e.g., time passing, number of listens, etc.)?
Also curious if it take Plex library into account or if its pulling straight from Tidal (perhaps based on what’s been added to My Tidal). Is this a screenshot you took? If so, do these new releases match the recommendations in the Tidal app, or are they something separate?
I don’t see any of these albums in the Tidal app, except the one by Paul McCartney. I am actually not sure what this list is based upon.
I only know that I have albums by all these artists on my server.

That’s good. The Tidal recommendations are pretty generic, probably because I don’t listen to anything directly through Tidal. I doubt it’s using the Plex history. At least I hope it’s not.
I did go through that thread (and a few others) pretty thoroughly while setting things up initially, since some of the settings’ impacts aren’t super obvious (especially server side). I’m good on how the apps (both Plexamp and PMS) work here, but I’m still a big foggy on how the library data is used with the overlapping of My Tidal and my Plex library.
Does anyone out there know how to speed up updating the Home page to get that “New Releases on Tidal” section to appear? Mine has (and has for months) in that same spot a “Most Played in June” section, which is a curious choice. It’s consistent across platforms (Windows and Android) and persisted through clearing data/reinstalling.
