Getting "something went wrong" displayed on home screen web app

This has changed since yesterday. I can browse and access all my content by clicking on individual libraries in the web app but nothing displays on home screen.

The home screen on all my client apps still displays correctly, it’s just the web app which does not.

I’ve rebooted the Shield and cleared the server cache but not sure what else I can do?

Similar issue here on Version 1.29.1.6276 but I am not able to access my libraries over the web or on my local server. I have tried cleaning metadata, emptying the recycle, refreshing metadata. Ensured my content is tehre and mounted, I can watch the content on my local PC through VLC so I know the content is in working order. Checked for updates on Plex, applied, updated base OS for Unraid to the latest 16.11.1 and restartin the OS. Nothing works. My libraraies just say, “Something went wrong - An unexpected error occurred.” Any more thoughts

Same thing here, was working fine a few days ago but now I can’t access my media remotely. Nothing changed on my end, tried messing around with firewall, ports, cache, re-installing and so on but nothing is working. Can only see my files locally (and I can’t pull metadata from plex and other agents)

I think all of you might be having different problems.

If I understand @Phoenix501 correctly he’s able to access all his media, he’s just not seeing the normal home page displayed properly with his content showing

I’ve had the same thing happen every now and again and I’m not sure what causes it. If it happens on my Shield with a Windows server, I force stop the app and clear the cache. I generally don’t do anything to the server itself

If it happens on my NAS sever, I generally notice this on Plex Web and a reboot of the NAS cures it

Sounds like @Dan_t3h_man88 can’t access any media at all and @emikzen can’t access any media remotely.

I suggest you guys start your own threads and upload your server logs so different issues don’t get cross contaminated

That’s alright I managed to solve my problem by changing my DNS from auto to 8.8.8.8 (google). Best of luck to the others

That’s exactly correct. I’m not sure what I changed to stop the home screen displaying properly.

The strange thing I’ve just noticed is all managed users in my home can see their respective home screens from the same server but not me!

What can you do when it only affects one user?

Not sure, like I said…I usually just reboot the server and it tends to clear the issue on my browser. Once and a while if I just click into different libraries and go back it clears the problem.

I would try that browser in incognito mode

Clear your cache and cookies on that browser

Sign out and back in

In no particular order i would try those options. I suspect one of them will work

Okay I fixed the issue and the home screen is back. Before I had a chance to read your helpful suggestions (thanks!) this is what fixed it:

A while back I created a smart collection for any unplayed items in my movie library and published the collection to my home screen. I watched my last unplayed movie last night which made the collection have zero items. This evidently triggered the bug.

I then marked a random movie as unplayed to see if the collection would appear again but the bug persisted. Finally I went into “manage libraries” and unpublished then republished the smart collection and everything came back.
