Ugh! I spoke too soon: The Stargate: Ark of Truth movie just tried to start at Noon and failed with the same error. It’s targeting the right directory too. Here are the logs. I hope someone can make sense of them
I think the paths are being set incorrectly with the .grab path appearing absolute rather than relative to a path for a library

Could you go through your existing scheduled recordings and check for each the library and location linked to that recording. I suspect we have some invalid path somewhere. Could you report back on any anomalies you find please
For shows I’ve already successfully recorded, everything has gone into /shares/HDHomeRun and show up in either the “TV Shows” or “Movies” libraries. For upcoming recordings, same thing: they target the HDHomeRun share and are set to go in “TV Shows” or “Movies”. It’s consistent. (By the way, I just confirmed that the HDHomeRun DVR is still turned off - I rebooted the NAS yesterday…) Should I just rebuild the entire library? If so, what’s the best way to do that. (I have Plex set up to aggressively purge deleted files / maintain the library / rescan for metadata - should I scale that back?)
/shares/Public/Shared Videos/TV Shows contains ripped TV shows from previously purchased DVDs. /shares/Public/Shared Videos/Movies contains ripped Movies from previously purchased DVDs. /shares/Public/Shared Videos/OTA Recordings contains recordings (of all types) made by BeyondTV years ago.
And, of course, /shares/HDHomeRun contains all the stuff the HDHomeRun DVR has been recording up until now.
I had to add the OTA folder to both libraries since it contains both TV shows and movies. If this mucks things up, let me know so I can painstakingly separate that stuff out!
I would like one more xml please http://localhost:32400/media/subscriptions?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
This will actually confirm which libraries the recordings were destined for
The problem with all the evidence has been referred to the development team, as clearly there is a bug.
To get round the problem, need to recreate all the scheduled recordings.
Delete and recreate each selecting library and very important for this issue, selecting the location within the library for each.
You had these scheduled movie recordings
“The Climb”
“Sherlock Holmes in Washington”
“The New Guy”
“Awakenings”
“Disney’s Descendants 2”
“Mrs. Winterbourne”
“I Don’t Buy Kisses Anymore”
“Big Top Pee-wee”
“The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou”
“Road to Bali”
“Stargate: The Ark of Truth”
and this scheduled show episode recording
“Men’s Final”

Just a follow-up. I haven’t had time to make any changes to my scheduling, folder rearranging, etc, but everything is recording ok now (as far as I can tell). However, none of my recordings have overlapped recently, so that may not be a fair test. I have two overlapped recordings Wednesday, so we’ll see…
Yep. After your warning. I rescheduled that recording and it went off without a hitch. Everything is working fine now. Not sure why I’m not running into that out of space warning now. There has been at least one overlapped recording in the meantime. It isn’t just the destination folder that was a problem - like I said, I got that error even when the HDHomeRun folder was being used. I guess it was that bug y’all mentioned. Crossing my fingers…
Edit: I’m just about done restructuring / renaming my files and folders. One more (long) day and I’ll be done. Whew!
Plex Media Server beta 1.13.7.5369 has just been released. It has a couple of fixes for problems that were showing in this forum topic - relating to recording library changes and also changing from a multi-location recording library to one with one location path only
(DVR) Changing destination library from one with mulitple paths to one with a single path for a DVR recording no longer causes a recording failure (#7551)
(DVR) Give better error message if recording attempts to use a library that doesn’t exist (#7278)
[Please note there is a similar bug in Plex for iOS that arises when changing the recording within the Plex for iOS app from multi-location library to single path library - this has been fixed and the fix will be released soon]
