GetVideoArtwork.com: Help

Developers Wanted
Okay, here it is - my plea, my cry, my beg ...

Ryno and I have taken an infant concept of GetVideoArtwork and transformed it as far as I think the idea can go in it's current form.

Both of us would like to take it to the next level, but either a lack of skill or time is prohibiting us.

What is this next level? Here's what I envision:

* streamlined interface
* fanart for movies & tv shows
* metadata for movies & tv shows, but only important library fields
* simple add request interface
* request fulfillment notification
* simple "edit metadata" interface for users
* simple upload artwork interface
* simple moderation to allow quicker updates
* API to push info TO Plex
* API to allow info to be pushed FROM Plex

What I am looking for is a small team of people (or person) that has the skillset to get this off the ground. Be it a Plex developer who wants to help add a new part to Plex or just a casual observer who has talent.

Anyhow, that's my plea. Please tell me there is a taker.

PS - I don’t expect anyone to do this pro bono, if they need something in return we can work something out.

Free holiday? ;)

Looks like a good project, though! I would donate my time, but I'm already dragged in too many directions to be able to commit wholly to a project, but I hope you find a worthy soul :)

Damn, I was sure one of the many developers here would want to try to help out since the site is trying to integrate with Plex. Hrumph.

Back to the drawing board.

Have you tried Drupal? It’s a great way of managing a database online. It offers pretty much everything you asked for and is completely free!

I’m not sure how scrapers work though, so I can’t confirm that scraping would work.

Hmmm... I might look at this. Seems far more simple and promising than Gallery. Of course, I think a custom install is the end game.

Any news on this?

Really love Plex, but it could use a better artwork source.

I’d be interested in hearing more details too, specifically about what back-end you’re using and what kind of API will be provided. Thanks for any info you can provide :slight_smile:
