I would love to have the ability to add all my music videos. I have a collection of live concerts and singles - not sure where the metadata would come from (example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stay_(Rihanna_song) or how full concerts would be handled compared to single songs. Maybe two separate sections. Also the ability to shuffle the whole singles section and create playlists from the singles collection. (Post edited and updated on 16 Aug)
It Would Look something like this for the singles (square thumbnails)
Even if I’d have to create nfo files manually myself or name the files a certain way instead of pulling metadata, I’d want the ability to add a “Music Video” section very much! For Music Videos, Live Performances, etc
I would like to see music videos, live performances and concerts to be included in the music section rather than in its own section. This would be useful for linking relevant music videos, live performances and in some cases concerts to their album.
You can do this by adding a Home Movies section and then manually adding album art etc. If you haven't done this before, have a look at the wiki part about how to add custom album art and background art.
While this works, it is very 'mandraulic' and takes a lot of time, especially when you have 100's of concerts. So I would still like to see the original request. Cheers
Or perhaps incorporate music videos into the music section. You can filter on video vs audio-only. And if you could stream the audio track of a video to a non-video device, then you'd have everything in one Section.
I may have figured out why this idea has no traction, it appears that Plex can handle a music concert collection pretty well already.......I have added a movie section and under the advanced part I changed the agent to freebase. This picked up and loaded the metadata for about 90% of my 115 concerts. Any left over I found the album art and the wiki facts to manually add the metadata and there you go. You have to make sure the names of the concert with a date are accurate though. Hope this helps...
