Girens a Plex client for Linux

Girens for Plex
Girens is a Plex media player client. You can watch and listen to your music, shows and movies with this GTK app.

Why this app
There are more Plex clients that can be used on Linux. For example the Plex website and the Plex media Player. Those Plex clients are lacking functions which I like to have. For example: a responsive layout (so you can use it on a small screen), function to download media items to the device and GTK+ is awesome.

Just tried it out. Great job!
I would like a few other ways to browse, especially the music section. I’ve started appreciating the web interface’s ability to browse Albums as opposed to Artists. It’s also a bit of a stumble to be unable to go into the artist to select an individual album to play, or to select individual songs.

Additionally, filtering would be a great addition (Movies & TV by Genre, decade/year range, etc). Music filtering by musical genre would be excellent too.

Lastly, a below-video tool bar with common controls would be a great feature so people can easily enable/disable subtitles, skip to the next video, etc. It could also show a progress indicator with total video length and current progress. Also, watch your keyboard shortcuts. ‘S’ toggles subtitles in most clients, but in yours it takes a screenshot.

Still, a native GTK client fills a big need. Thank you!

@DeftNerd thanks for the feedback! The option to show all the albums and the albums for a specific Artist is something I’m working on. The controls for video is indeed not ideal. Until I have created on screen controls you can look up the commands at https://mpv.io/manual/master/#keyboard-control. Filtering is a nice idea.
