Since music update, Plex is my default music client in my mobile device, i love it, but it is very hardly than others like Google Music or Apple Music.
Actually I use my mobile mainly for music, and tvOS for movies and TVShows. I think that is the same for many people.
I suggested make new Plex Music Client, only for music, more soft, with better control (Next and Prev bottons bigger), with better sync, with PlexMix, lyrics feature…
I hope support from other Plex users, you are welcome for add more ideas and features.
Yes, that would be great. Especially if they brought in some Hi Def audio in such as my feature request here. The only thing I wouldn’t want to see is the premium music features becoming stuck on the Music only client. That’s because being able to play music through any Plex Supported device to my stereo is a fantastic feature I wouldn’t want to lose. Too many music players are being made to suit low quality listening styles such as with bluetooth. I really don’t think it would be hard to implement, most of the HD Audio stuff already exists for Movies anyway.
Unfortunately the quality and usability of the music client on devices like PlayStation is close to appalling at the moment. The music capability in Plex however, (especially now with the premium Music Library through Plex Pass) has absolutely HUGE potential. At present the Android / iOS clients are best, but lacking in UI like you say. Would love to see this!
