The issue that I reported in May, is still not fixed, but there has been some movement in Github, but I don’t understand what it means. Does anyone know?

This is a general Qt tracking issue.
Blocking this on build team availability… . We'll address in a future cycle: https://github.com/plexinc/plex-conan/issues/517.
Context:
- Chromium should have our patches applied: https://github.com/plexinc/plex-desktop/issues/40
- Mojave dark mode support added in 5.12
- Implementation: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-68891
- Blog: https://blog.qt.io/blog/2018/11/08/qt-macos-10-14-mojave/
- **Notice**: There's some minimum SDK version comments
- Fixes Qt ignoring modifier key swapping on macOS: https://github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player/issues/799#issuecomment-438806504.
- Fixes inability to build a functional application on Mojave: https://github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player/issues/779
- Hopeful regression fix for https://github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player/issues/772
- Various window handling shortcomings are anticipated to be addressed.
It references my initial post from May which is here:
PMP just auto updated and now playback is horribly jerky when refresh rate switches to 23.976. I found an older version of PMP (2.8 I think) and reverted back to that, and all is well. I then went round to the other 4 machines in the house to stop them auto updating, by amending the conf file, before opening the player.
Windows 10 machine, Nvidia GTX1050 graphics card, not using Open GL, auto refresh rate switching. Everything playing back at 23.976 is very jerky as in unwatcheable. When I get …
What is Qt, and what is a future cycle, and when will it happen, are the questions that I have.
Thanks!

RuleZero:
What is Qt
Qt (pronounced "cute" or as an initialism) is cross-platform software for creating graphical user interfaces as well as cross-platform applications that run on various software and hardware platforms such as Linux, Windows, macOS, Android or embedded systems with little or no change in the underlying codebase while still being a native application with native capabilities and speed.
Qt is currently being developed by The Qt Company, a publicly listed company, and the Qt Project under open-sour...

what is a future cycle
Means that Plex will start working on it, when the QT libraries has their issues fixed
RuleZero:
when will it happen
Nobody knows. Plex does not control 3.Party libraries/frameworks, like Qt, nor do they ever hand out timelines
Okay, thanks for the reply. I did google Qt and the explanation makes no sense to me. Is it correct to say that Qt is some software that is designed / managed by a third party (like the mpv engine) and is used within Plex Media Player?
If so, did the version of Qt that is used within PMP change around May time which is when Sync Mode: display broke?
Thanks

Yes
Sadly no idea, since I’m not a PMP Ninja
It looks like the Qt version is visible in the top left hand corner of the screen in PMP when pressing i to get the overlay stats up.
In the version 2.10 where display mode:sync was not broken, it shows version 5.9.0, whereas in the latest version of PMP it shows version 5.9.5.
From the github post, the latest version is 5.12.
So… fingers crossed that might fix things.
Maybe, a nice Christmas bonus?!
