I posted a problem. Solutions were offered, but none of them answered the core problem. Plex stopped reading AVI files. After I posted requested info, the thread was marked as “answered” and I can no longer post there. What’s that about?
The problem I outlined is still outstanding. Plex will not play AVI files. I converted some random AVI files in different places to MP4. They work fine. These files stayed in the same file folder, on the same external drive. No permissions changes. It’s AVIs. Ma Plex don’t like’em no more. This problem is mentioned in other posts, but those are older posts and didn’t apply. Is this a problem with my version of PMS?
I’m using PMS Version 0.9.16.2.1827-df572f6 on Mac OS X 6.8.
Any solutions to this? Or do I need to convert 300GB of AVI files to 300GB+ of MP4 files?

I’m now running OSX El Capitan and the latest version of PMS.
AVI files still don’t work. ChuckPa mentioned installing ffmpeg to fix this. I have this installed on my Mac. Reinstall?

What do you mean by that? “No place”
Could you please go to that page, scroll down to the bottom post and make a screen shot? If there is an issue with access permissions to that thread, they should get repaired.
I cannot help you with the AVI issue though, since I have no experience with OSX at all.
