GNU Terry Pratchett

So … I was looking at my server via my browser (app.plex.tv) and I happened to glance up and see that my chrome extension “Clacks Overhead” that tells me if a site is broadcasting/sending the message, wasn’t lit up.
So thought I would just jump on here and see if it was something that we could get added to the backend code of the site?

For those who have NO clue what I am talking about, the prolific and much loved author Sir Terry Pratchett who passed away in 2015 due to early-onset Alzheimer’s created characters and a world that touched many, and of the various things that he put to paper was,

“A man is not dead while his name is still spoken” - Going Postal, Chapter 4 prologue

And in that same novel introduced the “Clacks” or large semaphore towers that stretched across his pre-industrial fantasy world, and allowed for mass communication, and when a character passed they decided to make sure he lived on by making sure his name was perpetually running in the background of the signal, always being spoken.

So people have put this into many websites across the internet so that Terry’s name will always be there, never being forgotten.

So… you want Plex to include the text “GNU Terry Pratchett” into some server headers that are part of the every message sent between clients and the Plex Media Server?

I like the author, not sure spamming his name over “The Clacks” will do anybody much good…

In the words of Sir Paul McCartney, Live and Let Die.

Why can’t you just create a GoFundMe or non-profit in their name like literally everyone else? Plex is proprietary and they ain’t gonna do this for ONE dead author, especially not being related to their organization. bye!
