It may be not what we though it would be but after all it is a great update. Thank you everyone at Plex involved in this project, I really appreciate it and I know it will conclude in a great version with most bugs, if not all, will be fixed. Keep on the good work!
You’re kidding me right now correct? I guess you didn’t download the latest update…
Imagine there are people with a different opinion than yours.

Agreed. I like the update too. It will be better when they can tweak to accommodate folks with bigger libraries but for me it works great.
The latest version of Plex on Xbox One is practically universally disliked. It has a 2 star rating on the Xbox store. The reviews section is loaded with people’s complaints and problems.
The old version had some problems to be sure, but I’d take it any day over the current version.

There will ever be people satisfied with changes while others unsatisfied.
The new app is not that bad. Actually, the design is nice. (I liked the old one too but this one is kinda “clearer”.)
The real things are the issues pointed by @Moussa in this post, like the subtitles malfunction:

When the new app works, I feel like it works far better than before. But it has to be fixed, I agree (and quickly would be quite nice… halloween, winter holidays, children, well you know).
While I agree that you can’t please everyone, people generally seem to have a lot more issues with the new version than they’ve ever had with the previous version. I know I do. For me, the look is fine. It just doesn’t work very well, and that’s what’s most important to me.

I really do not like the UI/nav in the new application.
but what I do love is that we’ve had direct response from @Moussa who has been here to listen and try to help us.
xb180 users, you don’t even know the unholy nightmare hell that we other FireTV users have been forced to go through for 2 months now. the useless/insulting/borderline replies from a certain other “plex employee” who has done basicamente nothing for us.
compare:
- FTV/S: “oh you just need to get used to the phone-centric UI we just forced on you. and all those functional errors that weren’t there before? yeah, we’ll get to those… sometime. maybe…”
- XB180: “sorry you guys don’t like the new UI but here’s how to make it work. oh those new/retrograde functional errors? yeah, we are fixing them immediately, and PM us to get a beta fix.” !!!
I don’t like to use plex on my XB1, the thing is such an electricity-hog. I don’t like to use plex on my roku, that thing is so danged slow. but I really, really do not like using plex on the FireTV or Stick, it is so unbelievably broken. so, thank you @Moussa for making the xbox a little better, and for helping us to believe there are people at PLEX who still believe in us, the users.
I like the new app. It’s way faster than the old one. The new interface needs a little work to get used to it but it works.
Yes there are some issues but there were errors in to old app, too. The errors mentioned in the “known issues” thread are recognized by the plex team and will be fixed. And after months of waiting, with no response from the plex team, we got @moussa he doesn’t have an easy job right now, but he helps, answers questions and keeps track on the issues we have. Thanks
Keep in mind he didn’t design the new UI as that was already designed for PMP. He simply implemented it as it’s the new “standard” Plex has chosen for at least some of the new apps.
moussa did have to create the new app from scratch for the xbox using the new framework. moussa is doing a great job all things considered. He’s active here in the forums and obviously quite active working on fixes and new code.
What more can be said but THANKS!
Carlo
The UI is horrible, navigation is unintuative and the old app was 10 times better.
Thats before you even consider the fact it just doesnt work. Half my library no longer plays.
I have never had an issue playing any file on the old app, now I cant watch a series at all on it, because there is no way it will play more than a couple of episodes without a problem.
The new app is awful. It flat out doesn’t work. Things will load and then it will stop mid movie and just lose connection to my server. Other movies flat out don’t work at all.
Terrible, terrible product. Ruined a perfectly serviceable app for a very minor aesthetic alteration. Subtitles are ruined in the new app. Absolute joke that you forced everyone to “upgrade” to an empirically worse app. The older app worked fine. I will be switching to a competitor with a functional app.
