Have you emailed Plex support?

Itâs not meant to work ârightâ. Itâs meant to almost work or work just enough to frustrate the hell out of us. So, it sounds like the perfect time to release Google home integration.
I saw todayâs âNew features for Alexaâ announcement and thought Iâd just come and add my +1 for Google Home support!
You should email Plex support also
New Alexa features, still NO Google Home features. Ridiculous.
Iâm having great results using Google Home with IFTTT and Webhooks (formerly Maker) to control my other HA stuff (CQC). Could Plex interface through Webhooks (http get command)?

Unfortunately I think youâre being a bit optimistic - But I hope youâre right! ![]()

Unfortunately, I was being sarcastic.
There does seem to be a lot of misguided optimism in this thread - considering that since November of 2016 the only utterance from Plex is a symphony of cricketsâŠ
Is there any status update on this?
Been looking forward to it
The lack of any kind of formal response to this massive thread means GH integration is not looking good. But I emailed Plex support (as everyone reading this thread should so we show them how much this matters) and their responses were less than inspiring.
Here are screenshots of my emails with plex support. Iâd characterize their responses as ânon-committalâ at best and âIDGAFâ at worst.
Just to clear something up. There is another Google Home Request thread (one of the many) where a member of the Plex Team said that they are interestedâŠbut I read that sometime last year and canât for the life of me remember which thread it was.

Do they really think that the majority of us want music compatibility? Sounds like a poor excuse to dance around something that tons of people in the community want (Have you looked at Plexâs Facebook page? There most recent post about Alexa is plagued with people requesting Google Home compatibility). I am pretty sure that most people just want the ability to tell google home to play certain movies and tv shows on their tv. Personally, music playback via any home device is the last thing on my mind when I think about Plex/Google Home compatibility.
Yeah, I donât know what their deal is about this. In the couple years Iâve
had plex, Iâve always considered them to be at the leading edge and to have
a very strong sense of what their customers/users want, but latelyâŠ

I recently became a LIfetime Plex member. Now I realize given my history of picking tech winners, Plex will probably be shuttered in six months. Sorry.
Seriously, even if we canât have a Google Home integration, how about just IFTTT?
Email plex
Do you know how to email Plex in a way that is effective? Iâve looked at their contact form. None of the categories seem to apply.
I found an IFTTT feature request with a total of four likes including me.
Maybe some people on this thread would like to add their input:
They donât really seem to have an option that relates to a feature request
or compatibility, so I would just pick whatever you think is closest. I
donât recall which category I chose.
Eventually you will come to realize that Plex doesnât give a chubby-ratâs-bee-hind what you want.
They will do something if and when they want to - and no amount of Feature Requests or Pleading via Email or any other venue will make one bit of difference.
Yer Tilting at Windmills, Don QuixoteâŠ
But Best of luck to yas.
