Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold not full screen

On my Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, when I am watching in full screen with either the normal external screen or the internal 8-inch square screen, the player does not go past the camera notch and leaves a visible black bar.

I have tried switching the display mode to zoom but it still wont pass the camera notch. However, if I click the screen to bring up the media controls, it expands and does cover the full screen but once the controls disappear, it reverts to not going past the notch.

I also have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and the show happily covered he notch so I would be surprised to find out this was intentional given the camera hole is much smaller than the iPhone notch.

Haven’t received an update on this, would really appreciate some support or developer comment on if this will be fixed?
