Grey bar and dts passthrough, but I have very little hopes
Tried some 4K HDR10 mkv files… Unfortunately bars still grey 
All movies have only grey bars. This movie has black bars and grey bars…
to bad Sony also added the DTS bug
Tried some videos on youtube (HDR Channel)…
I’ve found these videos…
One has grey bars…
The other has black bars…
Why? I don’t understand

why the HDR movies on KODI 18 (I have a january 2018 beta) have black bars and on PLEX have grey bars ?

I’ve tested 3 mkv files H265 HDR10 and here is:
- how they work
- video resolution
- media info extracted with “MediaInfo for macOS”
Movie 1:
Full grey bars.
Resolution: 3840 x 1608

I think that grey bars depend on the video height
And I think it’s not a PLEX bug. This bug is present on some versions of KODI, VLC, Youtube (screenshot on my previous posts) and other players.
Is it possible a workaround ? On KODI 18 (on my january 2018 beta) the bars are always full black.

Forgive my noob-ness, but where do I find the Beta version?
I’ve been following this issue for a while. Basically since I streamed The Matrix to my new x900F. Would love to see this fix!
I think you have to subscribe Plex Pass to test beta versions

Ah, no Plex Pass here. Anyone know how long it generally takes to go from beta to GA?
I just started trying to play hdr content through plex on my x900e this week. So I’m excited to see that apparently it was perfect timing for them to fix this issue. I just signed up for the beta program so hopefully that will get approved quickly and I can start enjoying HDR movies because I can’t enjoy them with the grey bars!
