Grey screen when playback goes into PIP mode

I made a video of the problem.

Sometimes when going into Picture-In-Picture mode, the underlying screen becomes grey.
No Sources, no menu, nothing. Once here if I push Android back button the screen returns to the home menu normally. In this case in the video I tried pushing the arrows left, right, and when pushing up the app totally crashed and restarted.
