Greyed out folders for library

Latest Ubuntu release, new server install. Kind of a noob with Plex Linux. The issue is that i have some OneDrive folders syncing with “rclone” to drive on my server. I want to point to this folder for a library. Problem is when I bring it up in Plex, I can see the onedrive folder but it is greyed out and I can’t select it. I believe permissions are ok for this folder.

Anyone have any ideas?

From what you describe, permissions aren’t ok. It’ll probably be about how that rsync drive is mounted into your system… make sure the system plex user has access (not necessarily your regular user account on the Linux machine)

Thanks. I’m going to revisit permissions again. I agree something is wonky there.

Does the plex user need to be the owner of the folders or just have full r/w permissions?

IIRC it doesn’t have to be the owner – but depending on how you’re mounting the OneDrive this can cause some trouble.

Thank you, sir! That should set me on my path. Solved a permission issue with my movie drive by way of a Samba network share to my Windows PC (all my video editing stuff is in Windows). This is next.

I am chipping away at permissions and driver issues (damn Tuner was working in Windows but now it isnt!)

I think I figured out my issue. rclone doesn’t do a full sync. You are basically mounting the cloud drive. I am going to switch to Onedrive Free Client Fork that will actually do what I want it to do.

Will report back
