Grid Guide for LG WebOS

I’d make sure to get the just-released app version (7.30.0.16390), or manually install 7.27.0.15018 if that does not work.

@tixetsal My experience has been very good with the Fire TV 4K stick. It just doesn’t feel native on my LG tv because I’m switching between native apps and the Fire TV 4K.

Makes you wonder why we all are paying for a service that we know is inadequate and frustrating. Top it off with it being a two year or more abandonedware.

Might be nice if someone from Plex would explain why the guide doesn’t show channels, only shows. While everyone would grouse about some legal constraint, it’s at least better than it being totally ignored.

I would just like to know if you are working on it, because if it were not, I would now buy a fire tv stick.
And if you were working on it I wouldn’t mind waiting.

Don’t be so hasty with Fire Tv, check the forums for any issues with that device.

Yes! I bought the firestick and I’m getting “an error occurred while attempting to play this video” errors now that have made me have to go back to the other afflicted players that still kind of work.
My sweet lord this is a bugged-out piece of software which has been tainting all my entertainment for the last several years since i put money into the ecosystem.

ETA:

FYI, the fix for the error I was getting on a new Firestick 4K due to the above issue (hahaha- what can I do other than laugh at this point?) is to turn off the new video player and revert back to the old one. This toggle can be found in the settings of the Plex app on the F4K.

Big +1 for this option. So many clients have the guide but not webos.

You can’t keep leaving this out when the majority of users use the guide to setup recordings. Sure there are other ways but through the guide is most convenient for many users like myself.

It’s long overdue. Please priorities.

Bump bump bump. This is a bit silly

Is there another thread somewhere where someone from Plex has already addressed this issue? Or is there somewhere in this thread where it’s been explained why this is the case? Or is this really how Plex has chosen to deal with the issue?
You’d think with all the extra ad revenue they’d be able to work on the customer relations aspect rather than just the random forum post from someone in the know and all the plex yes-men forum admins who close legit tickets…

Some Plex users are suggesting to use a companion app but this thread is not about how us WebOS users and Plex subscribers find a workaround to not having a Guide in WebOS GUI. It’s to get the attention of Plex employees that us WebOS users would love the guide to show up in WebOS GUI.

To be fair the WebOS app is really good. Fast and responsive. Just missing some features other platforms have.

I’m sure they know there is no Grid guide, if and when it comes is not in our control. The LG app generally is good, especially with models sporting Alpha 7 or 9 processor. Considering the app is for WebOS 2 - WebOS 4, the earlier already 5 years old, there must be restraints on having a uniform UI and UX. WebOS 1 and 1.4 are no longer supported.

Thanks for the input SE56 but can us subscribers get responses to our queries from official members like Plex employees?

+1 for this. Really frustrating.

Can the remainder of us also obtain a secret encoder ring for communication with Plex employees?

Please please please add a grid guide for us!

I’m sick of waiting, so I bought an AppleTV 4K. LG has yet to release the AppleTV+ app for the 2018 OLEDs, so it takes care of that need as well. What a ridiculous experience.

Oh come on, I just setup my Quad HD card and now discover no guide on LG tv? We really need this please!!!

I would also appreciate this very much.
In addition, also fast channel switching would make a gread usability for watching TV as you know it since centuries.

Yeah, +1 from here. Guess Emby will be the way to go.
