It certainly helps, but could be a bit more elegant. Here's hoping the dev support above bears fruit. :-)
+1. But it looks like the devâs got the memo so I look forward to it in a future release!
+1 from me.
Ideally there would be an checkbox when creating a new collection to decide whether that collection should be flattened in the movies list or not - because I for example have several collections which I would not like to have flattened. Like war movies, submarine movies, Scarlett Johansson movies⊠just some of my âcollectionâ focuses on which I like to keep track
Any news on this topic? Been awhile.
BUMP! i would like this as well!
I believe the new release does not address thisâŠ
It is a pity that this is not getting the attention of developersâŠ
I fully subscribe the idea of having âa checkbox when creating a new collection to decide whether that collection should be flattened in the movies list or notâ
+1, I think this feature would be pretty handy.
+1 cant believe it isnât in here yet
i completely agree and support this, I for example love star trek and have all 11 star trek movies, would be nice if they didnât take all that space and just be as one Star Trek with submenu
I too would love to see this implemented - but how would it address the various reboots? For example, I wouldn't want to mix JJ's Star Trek with the cheesy older ones. Same reason I would want to mix Nolan's Batman with the older ones.
I guess one problem at a time? Let's get it implemented first, then figure it out.
How about simply having the âcollectionsâ included with the All Movies, but flattened⊠so if you have alll the Star Wars movies in a collection called Star Wars, when browsing all movies you see Star Wars, which is the collection and then inside that the contents of the Collection?
Having it automated would work well for movies that are names The movie I, The movie II, but when you have The movie, The return of the movie, Another version of the movie, how would Plex know they are all the same? It would be great if Plex could do it automatically, but in the meantime, just having the collections in the All Movies (or unwatched, recently added, etc) and hiding the movies that are in the collection would be good for now.
As someone with 350+ movies in their collection on Plex, which is being fed by Couch Potato, I donât mind editing some metadata via the web management, but I donât want to go to the OS and start moving around folders, renaming files, etc to get an âautomatedâ collection system working.
Just my 2c
tbh i dont really need it to be automated, just having an option to edit this option for myself is good enough, like adding movies in collections is ok and having option to display collection in movies instead of actual movies is a good way to go, also ordering by release date within collection would be really usefull option that will have a very meaningfull list
Since I switched from âmediabrowserâ to plex I really missed this feature.
+1

+1, the 2010's version of [AOL's "me too!"](http://logicerror.com/aol).
Guys, how's it going? It's been almost two years since this reply. I've changed from XBMC a few mouths ago and this is one feature I really miss! Especially since my Samsung tv can't change layout. Otherwise I LOVE the plex ecosystem!!!
BUMP, also missing this. Pretty please?
BUMP, also missing this. Pretty please?
try enabling "use collection info from the movies db" in the moviesdb agent settings and making it your primary agent
I would love this feature as well!
Just came from XBMC and when I saw my movies I realized how much cleaner the library looks with collections and how much easier it is to navigate. It even did it automatically for most movies.Â
Is there a place we can vote for this feature? A large library is pretty much useless. I have to use folder mode to make sense of my movies.
