I am attempting to play a set of TV shows that are grouped via category in the GTV client. The popup shows Play and Shuffle on each category BUT when I select any of those, the app closes/crashes.
On a browser client it works fine so I thinking this is a GTV client issue/defect.
Anyone have a workaround?
I took a quick look at the server logs and see this ERROR a fair number of times at the time:
Jan 17, 2026 10:00:52.485 [6496] ERROR - [Req#3aa24] Unknown metadata type: directory
Ok, so as a ‘workaround’, it seems IF I create a smart playlist based on the genre/category, I can shuffle play that playlist. Annoying but usable.
Possibly its that a category is shows at a TV Show level, whereas a smart playlist is a list of episodes (at least my smartlist is).
