Guest user's watch history shows up in primary user's account

Server Version#: 1.31.2.6757
Player Version#: 9.17.0.38861 on Android TV

I recently enabled the Guest account in Plex Home. The Home had two users: the admin (myself) and one other normal user.

The guest used the guest account to watch some movies and they are now appearing in the Continue Watching section of my account. I’ve found several other topics about this. Often it’s blamed on the Trakt plugin, but I don’t use any plugins. The other topics didn’t get any useful response.

  1. are you certain that the user has actually “Switched User” to the Guest user account?
  2. which client type was used?
  3. did you put something into “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”? And if so, was the used client within that IP range, in the local network?
  4. was there a VPN involved?

  1. I’m certain, I was here to show them how to use it and logged them into the guest account myself then left them to watch things. There’s also no way they could have accidentally used my account because I have a PIN set on it.
  2. Plex app for Android TV.
  3. I do have something in there: 192.168.2.0/24,172.18.0.0/24, where the first is my LAN and the second is the Docker network the Plex Docker container is on. The client would be in the LAN IP range.
  4. No, this is in my house where both the client and server are located.

Enable “debug” logging in the server settings, if not already active. (don’t enable “verbose” logging)
Could you remove the LAN network address, save the changes, then stop and restart the server?
Then try to reproduce the issue, using the same client and Guest account.

Will do, there’ll be a delay until I can do that for now, but will provide the info when I can.
