Continue Watching Bug

Lately I’ve been seeing items on my Continue Watching list that my daughter watches on her profile. I’ve confirmed she is using her local Plex account and not mine. I’ve reinstalled the apps and optimized my database. I’m honestly not sure what to troubleshoot next short of starting my Plex install completely over.

Have you all seen this before? I’ve been using Plex for years and this is the first time this has happened.

So you are seeing both your and her stuff, or just her stuff in CW?

Do you have any Ip set to be allowed without authentication? Which player app does she normally use?

Just FYI no Plex accounts are “local”, Managed accounts are still online they just have no way to directly sign in because there is no email or password. and other people cannot give access to servers

Both mine and hers in my CW.

I do have IPs setup to be allowed without authentication. She normally uses either our Apple TV or a Roku TV.

Bad terminology on my part. Thanks for the clarification.

If you have the Roku or Apple TV’s IP in that i would remove them. I have no seen it happen if someone else signed in but an unsigned in device will treat playback as being done by the server admin. You could remove it, restart device then playback something with her account and see if it still does it.

The only other I can think of offhand is if you are using something like Trakt which might be incorrectly syncing her watch state with your account.

I just verified and I don’t have any IPs set. I did on a previous Plex install. I’ve seen others mention Trakt as well, but I’m not using it.

I’ll go though and remove all registered devices and then I’ll make sure to sign out and back into those devices. Maybe that can help
