I have two servers running on openSUSE and a third on Ubuntu. The server I’m having an issue with is one of the openSUSE ones. And, oddly. it’s one that based on a newer version of the OS (although it is still a couple of years old itself).
I had been planning to virtualize this server and move everything to the guest OS, but now I’m thinking that I’ll just build an entirely new virtual guest and use two VHDs - one for the OS and the second for the Plex install (all of the media is kept on a NAS). That way, I can detach the Plex items from the host OS, build a brand new host OS, and attach the Plex items to it and be up and running again.
Leveraging scheduled restarts is not a reasonable option - this isn’t Windows.
