Stupid question.
Why can’t Plex just get the guide data from the OTA stream? Why is it going through an EPG provider?
It’s not universally available. It’s not included, period, in lots of USA cable transmission, and the OTA signals sometimes only have a day or two. Not to mention gathering this data daily requiring keeping tuners busy to collect the tables.
Sure it’s nice when it’s there, but it’s not a completely solution for everyone.
