In my transfer my DVD-collection to plex-project I have come to Battlestar Galactica. The 4th season seem to have some kind of copy protection by DVD design: only the first episode of each disc shows up in Handbrakes title box.
If I bring out an old Windows laptop and run DVD Decrypter in IFO-mode I can extract PCG for PCG and then use them as source in Handbrake. This, however, removes language information on audio and subtitle tracks (fixable with Subler) and chapter markers (haven't found a solution for that yet), and, most of all, I have to leave my Mac :)
Is there a way to get Handbrake to read all PCGs on discs like these?
If not, is there a DVD Decrypter equivalent for Mac that can extract single PCGs?
DVD Decrypter can create chapter files which states where chapters begin in timecode or (I believe) in frame code. Are there anyone who has any suggestion (preferably Mac-based) of how to add chapter markers from such files to m4v movies made by Handbrake?
I have tried DVDfab, RipIt, MDRP as well as a handfull of other programs as well, but for all programs that rip an DVD-image I get the same problem when I use that image as source in Handbrake, and other programs that convert directly to movie files also only show the first track of each disc.
No, I missed that one. What a great program! Thank you so much for that hint! Finally I have season 4 of Battlestar Galactica on my Plex, and some movies that Handbrake couldn't read as well.
That's the kind of hint that can make people honorary friends on my Plex server :)
I found a DVD (Desperate Measures) where neither MakeMKV nor DVD Decrypter could find more than one track. At least it was the movie that I could copy. I guess I just have to live without a copy of the trailer for that movie.
I was getting only one title when using Handbrake. Then I tried the Queue function and I was able to have separate episodes extracted by Handbrake. Not the same as one big file but actually possibly handier — you can add your own titles for each episode.
