Hang playing mp3's on new pi

Hi everyone,

Fairly new to plex home theater in general and brand new to rasplex. Been running plex server in dlna mode for a while now.

Have a friend having a couple issues I'm trying to track down for him.

Main one is that when he plays music, on occasion when the next song is about to be played, the box hangs at 'please wait'. It isn't really hung as I can still SSH in and reboot it, but the UI is unresponsive.

Don't really know where to start troubleshoot this.. any hints?

Thanks

Possibly a corrupt SD card or aPMS server issue, would suggest reflashing to a Class 10 SD card first. Best way to corrupt SD cards is to pull the power cord without selecting Shutdown first.

I will try reflashing the card as per your last suggestion and see if it cures this problem as well, although I suspect it was this problem that caused him to power off his unit without a proper shutdown causing the 'settings won't save' problem you commented on last.

I don't think it was a server issue as he was previously running an android box with a plex client on it with no issues.

Ok the reflash of the card fixed the settings not getting saved but unfortunately this problem still persists. It will hang while choosing a track when playing MP3's. As I said before, I can ssh into the pi so the pi itself is not hung but the UI is unresponsive and keypresses don't do anything. Sometimes its the first track it tries to play, sometimes its the 10th.

As was pointed out I was wrong with the version of pms that he is using, I'll find that out but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions as to how to go about starting to troubleshoot this? Any way to log whats happening?

He had an android box set up before the pi that worked fine. He just replaced it with a rasplex box and it started exhibiting this behaviour.

Thanks..
