I’ve been using Plex MS with a Plex Pass for several years now. A recent hard drive head crash caused the loss of about 1TB of movie files…c’est la vie! I took that as an opportunity to start fresh and uninstall from the old computer (Windows 10 Pro) and move PMS to my new computer (Windows 10 Pro). Installation seemed to work okay; I signed in, deleted the old server and created a new server and new libraries. The problem is, any time I try to start a video from within the Plex MS application on the new host machine, it won’t play at all. The spinning circle in the middle of the screen times out and reports “There was a problem playing this item”. I’ve tried different formats/files, renamed some, uninstalled/re-installed and cannot solve this. I’ve also done my best to search through the forum for a solution to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. What portion of the debug log should I post? (I’m worried about posting too much unhelpful info from the log).

No such thing as too much info when providing logs. Just make sure you grab the log right after recreating the problem. It’s also best if you zip the log and attach the entire log instead of copy pasting into a comment.
Thank you for your reply and advice. I’ve attached the zipped folder to this post. The problem begins at time stamp 22:02 and continues for less than 1 minute. The file that I tried to play is an .MKV that I can confirm plays in its entirety using a local player (VLC). Please note, the file is on a USB3 External drive connected to a USB3 port on the computer hosting PMS. Also, prior to switching from the old computer to the new computer, the setup was the same.

Hello, you should provide the Plex Media Server.log.
Enable debug logging and exit the server.
Wait one minute for the server to shutdown.
Restart the server and give it a couple of minutes to perform startup tasks.
Start playback of an item you know will fail. Give it a minute or two.
Exit the server, grab the Plex Media Server.log and attach to your next post.

Sorry for the delay in replying (work commitments). I was able to resolve my issues by uninstalling the most recent version (0.9.17.1?) and reverting to PMS 0.9.16.6. For a reason that I am unable to identify, everything just seems to work. Thank you both for the help.
