Hardware-Accelerated Streaming Query

I’ve been running an intel nuc (windows 10) set up for a couple of years pretty successfully (although it struggles with more than 1 -2 transcodes) therefore decided that’s its time to upgrade to a new server.

With increased use (up to 4 transcodes at a time) I’ve been doing some reading on the forums and articles and my understanding is using the GPU to assist with Hardware-Accelerated Streaming will help my issue signification.

What’s not clear is what chipset and GPU are compatible- Im looking at:

Chipset: intel i7-10700k
GPU: GeForce RTX 2060
RAM: 32 GB
OS Win 10 x64

IS this a compatible set up? is it over kill– any help would be appreciated.

I think there’s no need for the discrete GPU card.
That CPU alone should already be enough to satisfy your needs. It has a relatively current incarnation of Intel QuickSync on board (“Comet Lake”) which provides support for the major codecs (no AV1, though): Intel Quick Sync Video - Wikipedia

Thanks for the quick reply ottokerner - thanks for the information ill give it a go!
