Hardware Acceleration with multiple Nvidia GPUs

Just a general question for hardware accelerated encoding. I have a GeForce 1070 and a GeForce 1060. Does this mean that I can only encode 4 streams simultaneously and the rest would use my cpu? Does plex know to use both GPUs or will it only use 1? I’m using the latest 64bit Arch Linux.

There’s a patch you can apply to your NVidia driver that can remove the 2-stream HW encode limit. Here’s the link to the linux driver, but there’s some info on the page for Windows…
