Lately I’ve noticed when I enable hardware transcoding on my Window 10 PMS server that PMS will occasionally completely crash when my users activate transcoding. It seems to work for a little while but sooner or later PMS will completely crash. I’m using an Intel NUC with an i7 and have confirmed it has QuickSync hardware transcoding functionality.
PMS: 1.19.4.2902 on Win 10 Pro Intel NUC I7
I did find my Iris 650 PLUs drivers were from 2018 and just updated them. Plex Media Server Logs_2020-06-02_18-47-36.zip (1.6 MB)

Update: Iris driver update seems to have completely fixed hardware transcoding crashing.
The B of it is I have the intel driver update tool running and in two what’s it never old me the display driver was out of date. I had to manually get the driver files and update the driver from Device Manger. FYI if anyone else ever has this issue, manually update Intel HD drivers if you have to.
FYI - there was a matrix I put together sometime back
