+1 Plex Pass User
Please consider this feature as important! Not everybody can afford the space, loudness or price of a fully featured NAS and therefore the RPI4B is the perfect media server / PMS.

+1 here. A Raspberry Pi uses a fraction of the power of a typical server and as itās running 24x7, so using a Pi is an obvious choice for Plex. Just a pity they donāt fully exploit the Piās capabilities.
Plex needs to go green

Would love to see this happening for RPi4

I use direct play when Iām at home, and I avoid using my Plex server when Iām away because I usually donāt have the cellular bandwidth to do direct play and the Pi canāt usually handle the transcode.
The Raspberry Pi is, by a wide margin, the most popular single board computer and an obvious choice for a low cost Plex server. Except for that one big weakness: encoding!
Hardware encoding on the Pi 4 would be huge for me.
Iāve used Plex for years, either on my mac or a Pi, Iāve always just used media that it can handle.
If you were to support hardware transcoding on a Pi4, I would hands down buy a plex pass. I know several other people in exactly the same boat. I will encourage them to come to this thread too.
I simply canāt afford or warrant a full blown NAS, a Pi is such an affordable little machine, I donāt see any reason why you shouldnāt add support.

+1 here as well
+1 ! Iām using Jellyfin because it supports this feature but Iāll come back on Plex as soon as it will support raspberry pi hardware transcoding !
+1 here, Iāve been using pi4 since January 2020 for plex and I have a lot of HEVC content, I will buy Plex pass immediately if they support this!

This feature would actually justify the purchase of a plex pass for me.
+1 here
Iām also in favor of this motion.
Would buy lifetime Flex Pass.
