+1 it seems to be possible, so make it possible in plex - please
Hi,
I got an email about a discounted lifetime pass, I was almost about to buy it, but then I checked and you still havenāt enabled HW encode support for my pi so I am holding off subscribing until I can use this feature on my pi4b 8GB.
+1 Vote!
Would definitely love to see this feature added. I really do not want to move to another media server setup (Jellyfin) for I really like Plex a lot.

Would also be very happy to see HWA on a Raspi4
this has potential!

Raspberry Pi is becoming the affordable computer that will be in all homes.
ARM is blasting off as superior for portable devices.
This feature is a MUST!
+1 Vote - Been Plex Plus monthly for years fully support you guys
I manually covert now when i have to and its like insanely faster but if i can do this via a docker ffmpeg you should easily be able to add this
+1 for this feature request. I have started using PMS on the Raspberry Pi for almost 6 months now and I am really loving it. I have been debating about upgrading to Plex Pass lifetime but the lack of hardware transcoding is holding me back. The other benefits of Plex Pass are not as enticing as hardware transcoding since this would unlock the ability of having smooth remote streams from the Pi.
+1 !!! we really need this function to have a great solution to efficiently decode our videos on the fly.
Like many members, it is this function that we will pass to the plexpass
+1 for hw hi transcoding.
+1 from here
+1 as well
Me too, I appreciate you have other devices and transcodings to do but making this work on pi3/4 would give people access to a very low power alternative to using basically pc technology, at very good value. It would be a very green thing to implement, I wonder how much electricity would be saved by people using rpiās instead of bigger pcs for their plex systems ?
Should I help out with the implementation? As Software Engineer myself I find it kind of funny that calling the already (Edit: accelerated and) available ffmpeg correctly on the Pi4 now takes more than a yearā¦
Who needs the music or movie collab when sweet HW transcoding is still not working on a widely used platform like the Pi 4
+1. This would be amazing, please add.
My +1 vote for this feature as well⦠old school plex lifetime member.
Plex subscriber here - please add my +1 to this too. Love Plex, but have been looking at kodi on my retropie because plex is jittery, which sucks because kodi, vlc and others play everything fine. I donāt like the Kodi interface.
Iāve been usinig plex for a while on my PC and LOVE it and have hada Pi4 for a few months that I want to make my streaming server.
+1
Cost of electricity is an important factor that the Pi addresses.
