Hardware transcoding not available to HDHR Extend users

The HD Homerun Extend has built-in transcoding, but even at the “highest quality” it’s unwatchable on my largest screens. I’d like to use the new HW transcoding option that plex offers, but I’m only given the option to use the transcoding built in to my tuner.

Please give us the option to use Plex’s transcoding if we select “Original format” on our HD HR extend! “Original format” passes the mpeg2 video through with no transcoding, the same as any other HDHR tuner. We are missing the option to “Convert video while recording”.

Yes please, I would also like this feature.

Currently I use the original quality and then I transcode later with tdarr, would love to have the ability to transcode on the fly with Plex.
