Something is not right. I have a HDHomerun Extend that has a built-in hardware transcoding ability, but no matter what I do in PLEX or the HDHomerun setup, PLEX always wants to transcode the stream when watching Live OTA TV. Is there a way to reduce the overhead of the re-encode in PLEX to a setting on the HDHomerun?
From what I see, it looks like all live streams are transcoded… (maybe to reduce file size), but that should be an option that I would set. The PLEX activity shows up as ‘recording’ even though I am only watching a live stream.

Any assistance is appreciated. And for the record I have successfully DVRed all seasons of Magnum PI from Charge using this set up.
