my first post in the plex forum. This seems to be quite a problem for people. I’ve tried every switch, settings change, whatever, that i can.
ALL of my video media has been rendered/converted to mp4 via handbrake to H265 at 1080P resolution. All of my devices are hardwired via 1Gb ethernet. My plexserver is running on latest version of win10 enterprise IoT, all patches, latest drivers, etc…
from all that i can find, there’s no reason for my media to be transcoded, let alone in hardware, when playing locally. right now Alien is playing - 1080p (HEVC Main 10) (HW) → 1080P (H264) - Transcode (HW)
i dunno why it would transcode to H264… but this is all very new to me so and a bunch of the settings aren’t exactly trivial.
any help is greatly appreciated
