Can I use Hardware Transcoding for my Synology 415 Play, I can’t find any option for this?
When I see a movie it stops constantly and I get a message that the server is too slow.
If I use Synology DS Video it works perfectly as it can use hardware transcoding.
Plex does not support hardware transcoding on the DS415 Play. The 415 Play has an Atom CPU which does not support Quick Sync Video, which is a requirement for hardware accelerated transcoding in Plex.
Synology uses a proprietary chip for their hardware transcoding. They restrict chip access to their own apps, so it is unavailable to Plex.
Also, Hardware Transcoding requires a Plex Pass. The option is not visible in PMS if you do not have a Plex Pass.
