I have a Harmony Hub remote and Plex Player setup on a Mac mini connected to my TV. Previous versions worked with the Plex Play and Pause commands from the Harmony remote. The current version of Plex Player does not work with the Play and Pause commands. All other commands work as expected, just Play and Pause buttons have no effect on playback. To pause now I have to click the select button twice, once to bring up the OSD and again to select the pause button.
Does anybody else have this issue and is there a fix or a workaround? Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately I don’t have such a RC to test it, but here is a way how you can diagnose the issue:
If you have a second screen where you can open a shell/console window, you could tail the plexmediaplayer.log file.
(Otherwise you’ll have to open it afterwards and look for relevant lines)
Look out for lines which have Input at the beginning.
Thank you kindly OttoKerner. I checked the plexmediaplayer.log file and I can see other commands happening but no command is passed to plex with the Play and Pause buttons. This must be an error on the Harmony side. I will post in their forums.
