Hauppague WinTV-dualHD not showing up in plex dvr on Ubuntu

I am a Plex pas subscriber and running Plex version 1.7.5.4035 and Ubuntu version 16.04.2 I have two Hauppauge tuners, the xbox tuner from Hauppauge works fine but the WinTV-dualHD does not show up. I did run lsusb and it does recognize that a Hauppauge tuner is plugged in. I followed the Plex and Hauppauge instructions and the Tuner TV install with PPA and have had no luck http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/linux.html.

I have tested it on my Windows laptop and both tuners work fine, it also works on my Shield TV as well.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Which model of tuners?
Are they on the Plex supported list?

yes they are supported it’s the happauge win-tvdualhd it looks like I need to go back to an older kernal version of 16.4 Ubuntu. I am going to do that when I get home.

Thank you for your answers, the issue was that I had a version of linux kernel that was not supported. I have it working fine now. I decided to go with ubuntu 17 so I did not need to worry about updates changing my kernel version on ubuntu 16.4 lts
