Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-3250 supported?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew for sure if the Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-3250 was supported for Plex DVR? I read a post where someone said it was supported with beta 5 but it’s not listed on supported devices. If it is, how do I make sure I have beta 5 for it to work?

LiveTV & DVR are out of beta. If it’s not on the supported list I would look at other options for purchase.

OK cool, thank you. That seems like a small list of choices though, is there any way to find out if there are others that are being worked on to release or is there a way to request the WinTV-DCR-3250 be supported? I need an option with a CableCard & it appears that only the HDHomeRun Prime is supported with CableCards & I already tried that, unsuccessfully. Just asking.

can anyone confirm if this model works with plex? HDHomerun is still working on their 6 tuners cable card box prime 6. They have stopped selling the prime 3 and people are now selling it at unreasonable prices. Have anyone tried the WinTV-DCR-3250 with plex?

I have the same question, the Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-3250 is the last currently available CableCard tuner that you can buy for a reasonable price. I could wait for the Prime 6, but if it’s taking them 2+ years to develop support for one box, who knows how long it will be until the Prime 6 is supported by Plex. I can’t find any articles about even beta support for this model anymore, are they even still working on it? I am fully willing to start paying for Plex once I find a tuner that will work. Gotta love Spectrum! Their services still only work with CableCards in my area.

I am already using a HDhomerun prime with 3 tuner I bought couple of years ago with verizon fios, they also provide cable cards and I am happy with it… I was looking into buying another tuner box but HDhomerun is taking forever to release the prime 6 and I don’t get why they stopped production of the prime 3 so soon if they were not ready yet. It would be helpful if someone from plex would be willing to support this box too… there are not that many options with cable card support out there

While running the latest beta firmware on the 3250 and the latest Plex beta update, things appear to be working for me. DRM channels not working, but I don’t think that’s the tuner’s fault.

I use two dcr-3250, the only issue I had initially was adding them to Plex as they would disappear during the “wizard” but if I quickly clicked, then set up them up, there has never been an issue over the last 15mo.
