Have HDHomerun Prime

And can see program data on the plex media server on my Qnap TVS-1282 NAS. But none of this data is available to any of the already updated (latest) versions of plex apps on any of these devices. What is the point of having Live TV and DVR with plex if you can only view it on the server itself. Called silicon-dust they asked me to contact plex since they have no SUPPORT PHONE # this is my only avenue. A little help here guys would be appreciated very much.

What version of Plex Media Server is running on your Qnap? What clients are you referring to when you say “on any of these devices?”

Some clients such as the AppleTV doesn’t have a guide etc so I don’t consider them to be a DVR “ready”.

Samsung S7 edge 128 gig , Droid Turbo 2 128 gig, Any samsung TV i have 5 , Sony NSZ-gs7 Internet players running plex

Plex Media Server version number running on the Qnap? What OS versions are the clients running?

Android 7.0 both android Phones Plex App Ver 6.5.1.2049 (2e38432a)
Windows 10 1703 OS Build 15063.608 (Plex Ver 3.2.20-25990c77) (5-10-2017)

Are these the specs of the hardware and the Plex Media Server that is running on your QNAP box?

@slash1 When you go to https://app.plex.tv/ from a web brower, can you see all your content (Movies, TV Shows, etc…) that was recorded by the QNAP box?

The sony NSZ will only connect via DLNA IIRC. It is super old.

Yes it is the hardware of the server and the pleax media server is running on.

The Samsung Tv’s don’t have live tv. Depending on how old they are they may never get it. The pre tizen Tv’s run a client created by a forum Member named Orca. Last i saw he had no plans to add it.

I have very little hope that my LG WebOS 3.0 TV will be able to schedule shows and watch Live TV.

@slash1 So, when you are using the web browser, you can see all your content, but on a remote client you cannot?

When you are on the server connecting via web browser, what web address are you going to…http://127.0.0.1:32400? Is your server logged into your plex account (looking in the upper right corner at the dropdown?

On the same server, instead of going directly to PMS using http://127.0.0.1:32400, go to https://plex.tv/web/ Are you signed in? If not, sign in. Can you see all your content? In the upper left corner, right below the House icon, do you have the correct Plex server selected? At one point I had PMS running on multiple computers because I was testing stuff.

all of my Samsung TV’s are 2016-17 Tizen

Just looked back through previous posts still do not see where the Plex Media Server version was ever posted. If Plex Media Server running on Qnap device is prior to 1.7.2 the clients will never see the Program Guide or DVR since it did not work on any clients prior to 1.7.2. My first post to this thread asked this same question.

This is from the initial post:

Figured out why I didn’t see the version. On my phone it is not showing the information after the bold line mentioning the model firmware and date, CPU I7 3.0 and below was not showing.

My Samsung TV Plex app also does not have the Live TV option. Don’t know if it ever will come to Samsung TV app. I use a Fire TV Stick connected to the TV for Plex which does have the Live TV & DVR options.

I am not sure of how you are trying to access Live TV from the Windows 10 computer but in Plex Media Player I have the Recording Schedule and Program Guide. Although it is not available in TV Full Screen mode for some reason. From the web browser I also have the DVR & Live TV as well.

The Android Mobile devices should have it as well but I do not have one to test.

The whole purpose is to cut the cords and return the boxes so you can watch this on TV’s not compiuters the HD homerun app is how i access the TV on my win 10 machines. I know this is still in beta but if we cannot watch live TV and DVR on TV’s using the plex app what is the end game here?

Because you have Tizen Tv’s you have a chance at getting Live TV. That app is supported by plex. Pre Tizen Tv’s are not likely to get it. But they are working on clients. If you need it asap I would suggest you invest in a Mi Box. $69 at Wal-Mart and is android TV.

You shouldn’t confuse cord cutting with not boxes attached to the TV. Cord cutting means no or minimal use of tv paid services like cable. You probably still want a good set-top like a shield TV or a pc to access the content foe streaming.

I have a shield TV Pro for my media and living room TV’s and fire sticks for the other 5 TV’s. My plan is to elimitate all fios boxes from my home i should own them after 10 years of paying for the 7 that i have.
