i payed for the full subscription why do the few people i have allowed access to my server still have to pay for the app to unlock?
Did you invite them to your Plex home or as friends? If you do the former then I guess your Plex pass also counts for their apps, but I am not completely sure.
Plex Pass Benefits
Members of a Plex Home receive most benefits of a Plex Pass subscription. This means that members of the Home—whether a Managed User or a regular Plex Account—can make use of Plex Pass features based on the admin’s Plex Media Server.
For example, once the admin account of the Plex Home (or another non-Managed User member) signs in to a Plex app to activate it, it’s possible to quickly switch to any other member of that Plex Home. This can be used to provide members of the Home free access to Plex apps that a subscription brings, for instance.

This isn’t a headache for me and I have lots of users that are not part of my home. What I do is pretty simple:
I have then go to Plex.tv and sign up for an account. (non paid)
Once their account is established, I ask them for the email address they used to sign up
I send an invitation to them from the web app under the “friends” section (Invite Friend button)
They confirm via email
Once confirmed, any app on any device they have then works as you would expect them to. No additional purchase necessary other than my own.
That’s not what I’m seeing… However, I did invite them before they had signed up for Plex… Could I “remove” the invite and then invite them back to fix the mobile app purchase requirement for them??
I seem to recall one friend who prematurely downloaded the app before setting up his account seeing something about paying. This went pretty quick, so I don’t recall an exact click path, but there should be some way around it. You shouldn’t be forced into paying anything with Plex. By default, it’s free. Always has been.
Seemed to work fine with the “non mobile” apps… Fire tv for example… But the mobile app asked them to pay… It was for my daughter, so I don’t mind adding her to my home, but didn’t know if that’s how it had to be…
The friend I had was using an Android phone. There should be some sort of option to bypass or shut down the popup pay window. I could be talking out my butt, as I was drinking pretty good that night… but we got around it somehow. He was up and watching within minutes.
