I just installed the HDHOMERUN DVR on a new server I set up and it shows about 13 channels and the guide in the area where you set it up but there is no listing for the :LIVE TV & DVR anywhere on the list of Libraries for the new server. (Not talking about Plex Live TV). The Home Run is there but there is no way to get to it, am I having a break down or just missing something obvious? It is showing on the old server, just not on this new one. Can it only be used on one server at a time, no, that can’t be. Thanks.
Settings - Server - Manage - Live TV & DVR
is where you set up the DVR functionality and connect the tuner device to the server.
To then use the tuner in your various Plex clients, you need to pin the media source “Live TV” to the side bar. You can find it if you put the side bar into the MORE or “edit” mode. “Live TV” should be located near the very bottom of this list.
Maybe I haven’t kept up with the updates and changes. I thought plex had live TV that was it’s own link or library and if I set up an HDHomeRun device it had it’s own link whatever I named it (mine was LIVE TV & DVR). Looks now like these two features are integrated into one called LIVE TV and the only guide I see is the guide from the HomeRun, I probably removed the plex one as we never used it and it was to long, to many things. In fact, looking around I can’t find LIVE TV & DVR anywhere now and apparently this is why none of the OTA channels that have recorded in the past have not recorded in quite some time. Maybe things are getting TOO fancy for us older people. Thanks.
